The main difference between turn to turn testing and withstand voltage testing

1、 Test purpose and object
Interturn testing: Interturn testers are mainly used to detect the connectivity between circuits or coils, and are usually applied in testing components such as power supplies, transformers, inductors, capacitors, etc. Its purpose is to detect whether there is any damage between the enameled wires of the coil, ensuring the normal operation of the circuit or coil.

2、 Testing methods and principles
Interturn test: Interturn test usually uses pulse waveform comparison method to detect the insulation performance between turns of the coil by applying high voltage pulses. During testing, an impulse voltage with a specified peak value and wavefront time is applied simultaneously to the tested coil and the reference winding, and the insulation between turns is determined by comparing the attenuation vibration waveforms of the two.

Voltage withstand test: Voltage withstand test mainly checks the insulation performance of electrical equipment under high voltage, ensuring that the equipment will not experience leakage or breakdown under normal operating voltage.
